Swimming Guidelines
1. Never swim alone, always agree on who is looking out for whom.
2. Never swim to depths that exceed one’s navel.
3. Pay attention to currents and the wind.
4. Always swim along the coast. Note that currents can pull you further out than you might think.
5. Learn the whereabouts of the beach; emergency telephone, life buoys, etc.
6. Please seek beaches with ‘blue flags’ as they live up to the strictest of environmental demands and are regularly looked after.
7. Your form is important – only go in the water if you are sober and awake, not if you are under the influence of a substance or taken medication.
8. Exit the water when you are freezing.
